In Y3MH, the children have had a great half term reading the book Stig of the Dump and writing their own story about it. They have worked really hard to plan the story, make their own characters, and describe the setting using expanded noun phrases. The stories are very well written and have some wonderful endings!
We have also been looking at the area of Sheffield and discovering what different areas were used for and what they are now used for. We have compared pictures from many years ago to current pictures and the children even recognised some of the places in black and white. They have also learned about the cooling towers in Sheffield and seen a clip of them being demolished.
It’s been a great half term and we can’t wait to learn about our new novel.
