This morning, we welcomed Mr Cartwright, a parent of an Aston Hall child, who delivered a fantastic assembly all about his career working for the NHS, as a Clinical Scientist. The children discovered how the job of a Scientist links to Science lessons in school, and they discussed becoming Scientists themselves, exploring genetics and DNA.
They all managed to spot the difference between different chromosomes (portrayed by socks), and saw how DNA is separated from blood, using some bananas and strawberries for their investigation. Thank you Mr Cartwright, the children had a great time, and learnt so much about careers in science.
Well done to everyone for getting involved, you did a brilliant job!
