KS1 Update

We are so impressed with how well the children have settled into KS1! We are having a wonderful first half term in Y1 and Y2.

This week we have begun learning our Harvest Festival songs – Harvest Samba, Autumn Days, Cauliflowers Fluffy, and He’s Got the Whole World. The children are so excited to sing these songs at the Church soon! You may practice these at home too by following the links below:

In literacy, we have started reading our new novel study text ‘And Tango Makes Three’ – a lovely, true story about two penguins in New York Zoo. This has been a great stimulus for some super writing including a letter to Yorkshire Wildlife Park about how to care for a penguin egg.

In maths, we have begun learning addition and subtraction and in science, we are learning about animals and their needs, diets, and habitats. Please make sure your child completes their homework.

Homework books will be handed out on a Friday and must be returned by the following Wednesday. Thank you.
