We are delighted to announce that we have achieved “Gold” for the School Games Mark which is a national award for schools for their commitment to the development of physical activity and competitive sport across their school and into the community.
Key Stage 1 played in a Mat-ball competition this half term. They really enjoyed playing against lots of other schools.
A huge well done to eight children from Year 5 who took part in a Swimming Gala on Friday. They swam against lots of other Aston schools at the Aston Leisure Centre and came third in the competition. Beaten to 2nd place by just a couple of points!
A huge well done to some of our year 3, 4, 5 and 6 children who took part in the cross-country race at Aston Academy. Some of the children ran 2km! An amazing effort! I was very proud. Well done to Katie, Billy, Caitlin and Lucy who are through to the finals!
Wow! Fantastic effort from the year 5/6 football. We are through to the finals and very happy to be representing Wickersley at Maltby Academy next week. Well done guys!
