Our school meals are of a high nutritious standard and are designed to be enjoyed by all children.  Children have a choice of one of four meals each day; a hot meat dish, a hot vegetarian or fish dish, a jacket potato or a school packed lunch.  Each is offered with a choice of dessert e.g. fruit, yoghurt, a hot pudding etc. and a drink of water.  If your child has special dietary requirements, please speak to your child’s class teacher so we are able to meet their needs.  From September 2013, school meals will cost £2.05 per day.  If your child is staying for a school meal, please ensure that dinner money is brought into school on Monday if possible.

Alternatively, children are allowed to bring their own packed lunch to eat at school. They are also encouraged to bring a suitable drink to enjoy with their packed lunch e.g. fruit juice, water, low sugar squash etc. (no glass bottles please).  Please provide your own cutlery for yoghurts/salads etc. from home. Unfortunately, we cannot dispose of any uneaten food, but many parents/carers feel that this allows them to monitor the amount that their child eats during the school day.

As part of our Healthy Schools Policy, children have access to fresh drinking water in the classroom and during lessons (no juice please).  All children are provided with a free school water bottle at the end of Foundation Stage to encourage this – replacements are available from the school office for £1 if needed.

The children are supervised during lunch by a team of Lunchtime Assistants who provide a caring, sociable and enjoyable lunchtime for all.
